Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I've spent a long time looking for a 15-16" laptop with solid specs and a dedicated numpad. The Legion 5 Pro and the Legion 7 were the ones I finally decided on. The matrix was marketed with an aluminum case, a sleek design, and rave customer evaluations. Despite Legion 7's superior graphics card cooling solution (evaporative chamber in place of traditional heat pipes), I almost immediately decided against taking it because of a software issue with the lighting (the Corsair iCue causes a substantial battery drain). There have been zero reported issues with the Legion 5 Pro. People frequently gripe about slow memory, however it appears that this was just an issue with the initial production run; my Micron memory is lightning fast. The display is stunning, providing a pleasant visual experience. Not terrible performance, but keep in mind that the Legions feature almost the most powerful TDP 3060s on the market and the RTX3060 is not designed for 2560x1600. If you care primarily about performance, though, you may want to choose the Legion 5 model without the Pro prefix; it's otherwise identical, but it has a more basic design and a lower resolution display (Full HD), which is more than adequate for a 15-inch screen. Regarding screen ratio, I found that 16:10 worked well, and that even in older games I did not encounter black bars on the sides. It sounds well enough, but it's not great. In contrast to the Apple MacBook Pro, the Legion performs quite respectably. Apathetic and mute. But in any case, it's quite reasonable. In sum, it's a fantastic option that won't break the bank. The official Lenovo online store's pricing, however, are subject to daily fluctuations of up to 30,000 U.S. dollars for reasons that remain a mystery. It can cost $120,000 one day and $150,000 the next. And do not count on placing a pre-order (without payments) because it will not be processed.

Pros
  • Superb laptop with a top-tier matrix and an expertly put-together frame that guarantees maximum video card performance.
Cons
  • It's possible that the RTX3060 won't be able to handle the latest games at their original QHD resolution and high refresh rates at maximum speeds. The audio quality is average but may be enhanced.
