It worked for me with A LOT of sophistication. Thank God my husband is a handyman! I replaced a very similar product that lasted me for years. But when he finally died, I realized they don't make that design anymore. Although it fits most shoes, they don't fall out every time you open the door like other designs do. The car itself looks solid enough and very similar to my old one. Problem with brackets. First, they're so wide that unless your door is very thick (most closet doors aren't), the hooks sit at a weird angle, making the door difficult to open/close. Second, their mounts are so flimsy that they only flex under the weight of a cart, not to mention the extra shoes! My husband made it work for me by cutting the piece above the door, drilling holes in the brackets and screwing them directly to my door, then running heavy gauge wire from the end of the bracket back to the door for support. All modifications worked, but if the product was designed correctly and made from decent products, then it did not need to be modified. Hence 3 stars because I now have a clean basket that keeps all my shoes neat, safe and easily accessible. But without modifications, this product is useless.
