Review on Mission Diamond Disarm Teamwork Players by John Collins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Diverse and entertaining concepts; need an adult player first

The concept of this game is really different and original, and it's a lot of fun. Let's start with the fact that this is a cooperative game. Everyone needs to play and work together as a team, and everyone succeeds - or fails - as a group. This is good for our two hard-fought grandkids who are suddenly faced with a different challenge that didn't involve battling each other in a competitive game. So, a spy hanging from ropes above the playing field with a mission to complete: steal the diamonds from the precious cage. First the traps have to be disarmed and so on (guided by the instructions on the cards). When the preliminary work is complete and the jewelry box is opened, a police car starts to drive up and the spy has to escape quickly. The mechanics are spring powered (no need to buy batteries!) which is very nice. Again, everyone must work together to maneuver the spy over the strings. This is harder than it looks and at least the first two games are useful for younger children and will likely require adult guidance. However, this is a small drawback. Another minor downside is that the strings can and do get tangled during storage and it takes patience to work this out before playing. But despite these shortcomings, the concept is so clever and the game so original and refreshing that I'm giving it five stars.
