(I've just put the tape in its final place and so far so good but if anything happens I'll update) 5/26/18 I would recommend this product recommend for anyone who wants a music activated LED strip that can do more than just blink. It has 4 different music modes and you can only change color in 2 of them. The LED strip is a healthy 16ft 4in and is pretty easy to install anywhere. They are waterproof but I wouldn't put them outside or under water but you can use them in the bathroom where there could be moisture issues due to steam. The band in music mode is activated by the microphone on the band control panel. There is no remote control but there is an app called IHoment which is pretty easy to install and use on my phone so Bluetooth works fine in my living room. This product does not sync with the music you are playing on your phone and only works with the microphone. The app on your phone is only for setting modes and switching colors. Basically, it's a good $31 entry-level kit (even better when it's on sale). If you want something more advanced you'll have to start buying different components and you're better off having a soldering iron and knowing how to use it. Up to this point this is a great LED strip that is a massive upgrade from your basic LED strip that just switches on and off.
