I ordered these socks because I've had VERY swollen calves, ankles and feet for the last year and nothing seemed to help. I work in my shop all day, usually not sitting for more than a few minutes, and I enjoy walking around my house in the woods looking for mushrooms. These activities seem to exacerbate the problem and I end up not being able to walk easily. I saw these socks and immediately thought they were adorable and just right for my taste. I ended up buying two different sets from two different companies and I don't think I'll ever be without them again! I'm absolutely thrilled! I was afraid they would be too tight on my calves and uncomfortable or too stretchy at the top and look awful with a cute skirt or dress. I couldn't be more wrong! I barely felt like I was wearing socks on yesterday's walk and they looked minimally stretched around my calves. They didn't dig into my calves any more than regular stockings, and after a bit of research it turned out this was because the socks were constructed with graduated compression. The compression decreases more and more when lifting the stocking. Clever! They didn't make my feet terribly sweaty either. Another concern of mine. These socks are practical, comfortable, affordable, stylish and get the job done. I will buy them again when they start to wear out. UPDATE: After a year of use, these socks have held their color remarkably well, especially since I add chlorine bleach to all my socks, regardless of color. I also can't say I felt a noticeable difference in compression elasticity. Neither pair have holes and they were actually comfortable, breathable and moisture wicking and wore them all summer long! (Yes, I looked like I should have joined the Guber team in my basketball shorts and knee socks, but who cares! These babes were comfortable! 😉) I still have to recommend these socks on every level. They've reduced the swelling I suffer from to almost nothing except on the worst of days, and my feet no longer turn ugly blue if I'm on them for too long.
