Before making this purchase, let me say that I am new to mountaineering and this is my first chalk bag. This chalk bag is great. It's lightweight, has pockets for your phone and keys, and even has a nice drawstring cord so your chalk bag or whatever doesn't fall out. Although I initially had the impression that the material is flimsy, I quickly realized how light it is and makes more sense. You obviously don't want to have too much extra weight on the wall. The only real complaint I have is that the strap that comes with it might not last very long, especially if you plan on using it outdoors. The soft lining does an excellent job of catching chalk in the air and feels good on my hands too. A totally independent touch, the sloth on the front played its part as I really like them. If you are looking for a first bag, this is definitely the one for you. It can even last a while if you take proper care of your gear. Have fun climbing.
