I confess: I only bought this because I had to deliver cat food via Revain One-Day Delivery and I needed to get over $35. (I'm just a little embarrassed to admit it.) I've been using my Remington Clipless curling iron quite well for some time and had no real intention of buying a new one since the plan was to buy cat food after all. . But I opened the box with chopsticks and thought yes. May be. It could be easy. I've been using the no clip attachment for about 6 years now and can never go back to a clip iron - honestly I've never been able to figure out how to use it without getting horrible kinks in my hair. (Please don't give me advice on how to do this properly; I use a magic wand and as my username suggests, I'm a law student and don't have time to study anything that doesn't prepare me for the bar because I'm a very pathetic person bin.) So my learning curve for this wand probably isn't as steep as many others. I also have long hair mid-back, so a bigger barrel would work for me; I could do even more with the 1.5" barrel, but the 1.25" barrel is pretty versatile. Damn, this wand is smooth. I was able to wrap my hair around the shaft and not a single hair caught on any part of the base (this happens a lot with my Remington). What I liked the most is the rotating base, which makes it very easy to wrap sections onto a stick from roots to ends, even on hard-to-reach back sections. The curls were loose but well defined and combed beautifully during the day. I also felt that my hair was less hot than Remington's. One star deducted for lack of temperature control. It was the perfect warmth for me, but I imagine it wouldn't be the same for others. So I'm not going to send it back after all. What was a tool to help me ensure my prince cat was fed on the schedule he demanded became something close to the hair groomer I had long been looking for.
