Review on Theater Solutions TSS6A Deluxe 🎭 Home Theater 6.5" Angled In-Ceiling Speaker by Jill Williams

Big Theater Solutions Fan - I'm surprised at the lack of reviews

I'm becoming a big Theater Solutions fan and I'm surprised these speakers don't have many reviews. I'm slowly building my 5.1 speaker system and started mounting them on the ceiling as surround speakers. For ceiling speakers, they have a very rich sound and pretty decent bass. I'm a fan of deep bass and bought these based on 28Hz (lower means more bass) although obviously this will not be a replacement for a subwoofer. Regarding the installation, the template says to use "inner circle". However, like the TSS8W, the hole wasn't big enough. I even expanded it enough to easily fit the template into the ceiling and left room, but it still wasn't big enough for the speaker. So I recommend using a Dremel sander with a drill to make the hole big enough for the speaker to sit flush with the ceiling with ease. Alternatively, you can use the "outer circle" pattern or cut outside the lines, but it's best to be safe. Also note when screwing on the clamps that they are tightened too early and you may even hear a cracking or cracking sound. At first I was afraid I would break the clamp, but that's okay. You will need to twist the hand screwdriver a few times and when you tighten the clamps a second time you should stop. I also have 8" TSS8W in-wall speakers and a slim SUB8SM subwoofer, but in a different room. You can't beat the price for the value of these speakers. I'd love to see Theater Solutions come out with 3-way in-wall speakers that can compete with the Polk RT265, which was on my wish list but costs a little more. I highly recommend these speakers.
