Haven't installed or used them yet but I've been looking to Revain for ages for shower curtain hooks that aren't made from the cheap steel advertised as 'stainless' becomes. They stood out because the marketing materials advertised "solid brass construction" in the description. It's good to be careful with these claims and since no one else seemed to be checking if they were actually brass I took one for the team and cleaned one of my hooks with a pocket knife. I see gold metal on the wire and rollers, confirming they are brass. More importantly, it's definitely not steel, which is good news because it means it won't rust. Brass can still corrode, but the corrosion peels off easily and doesn't flake like steel. Also note that brass is more likely to corrode when in contact with steel, so keep this in mind when installing shower curtains with steel grommets. Again, I haven't put them on yet, but I'm already deducting a star because I agree with many other reviewers that the color on them is pretty bad. It's not scaly, but if you look closely you can easily see that it's uneven and missing in places. The good news is that it doesn't matter if it's painted well because it won't rust. The bad news, at least for the manufacturer, is that unlike sellers who produce tons of rusty steel shower curtain hooks, the people who buy them probably don't come back to buy more every year or so.
