to try first. I had to cut about an inch off the threaded end of the ball joint to fit, but when I did that the bottom joint came free in about two minutes. The top was the same, I trimmed the ball joint to fit - it fell out once I started tightening it.

  • Definitely a bad product

Heavy Duty Steering and Suspension Tool

I was a little worried when looking at this item on Revain. It didn't look that strong, but I'm here to tell you it's tough. I slapped this thing to get it in place and didn't damage it one bit. The tie rods broke easily. They no longer need to be heated and whipped. Buy this product and save time. What you shouldn't do is let the nut loose before pulling it out. Loosening the nut is not easy. My project was a Chevy 73 3/4 ton 4x4.

Good enough though. (see photo and review)

Sharing photos and videos for people who like me want to see the real product before buying. The tool is good enough for its money, however. few tolerances. Especially in the center hole. This gives a lot of play between the parts and makes it cheaper. In my opinion, this is a DIY tool that gets the job done without breaking the bank. Tip: Think of it as a helper and just put enough pressure on the ball joint. So if you hit it with a hammer, it will be lost. Don't try to lose it just by using…

Did the job and got a nice case

I used it to loosen 2 front lower ball joints and 2 tie rod ends on a 2008 Acura RDX with no problems. Just lubricate the threads before use and take your time. I used the "tighten, then wait" technique - tighten the screw, then wait a little to see if it pops out, and repeat until it does. The tie rod ends came out with less effort than the ball joints, but they all came out with a bang! Be prepared for a loud noise when they eventually break, and the tool may fall off the part if this…

Works great under the right circumstances.

The tool is very durable and works great in places where an upper arm can be installed. Lubricate it, pat the ball joint seat and it works great. However, if the clearances on the top of the castellated nut are small (loose but open), the thickness of the top prevents it from being used. I suspect sanding the top to make it thinner will form the tool. We removed the lower control arm from a 2008 Scion TC and couldn't even remove the castle nut on the ball joint without removing the CV axle. We…

This is necessary to replace the ball joints!

This tool allows you to easily separate the ball joints from what they are attached to. Simply slide this piece under the ball joint and the other side onto the threaded shaft and tighten. As it begins to tighten, you can tap the knot with a mallet to loosen it while you continue to tighten it. It snaps out violently so nothing should get in the way of the ball joint assembly or you could seriously injure yourself! Overall, this tool seems sturdy and bulky enough to work with any ball joint…

Pays for itself the first time you use it!

It takes a lot to impress me and this tool did it. I've always used a fork to separate the tie rods, knuckles, etc. because I was replacing the ball joint and didn't care about damaging the trunk. I had to separate the steering knuckle which already had an almost new ball joint. Wow, this tool did a great job. My advice, spin it until it's almost to the point where you think it might break, then wait a few seconds. Then maybe another 1/8 turn and boom, it's off. I've even used it on a tie rod…

Works great if you can mount it in place

After throwing away the cucumber fork, I used it to loosen the ball joint on my 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. But to get it in place I had to lower the lower control arm and swing it out of the way. I then had to remove the axle from the hub to get enough clearance for the arm to go through the ball joint stud. At a higher setting, I still had to drive it in to get the lever far enough over the bolt. Once I had it in place, I turned the screw and just when I thought it might fail, rattling, the

Great product on Tools & Equipment

I have read reviews on this product and the same product from other brands that say they break during use. Having used this product and knowing how to use it, I don't see how this product will break if used correctly. I blame the brand for not providing more detailed instructions on how to use it. Even with the most stubborn ball joints, little force is required to cause separation. It's also worth noting that this item doesn't require impact, and while I don't know the manufacturer's…
