Very soft and warm. Both the hat and the mittens hold up well. Ideal for snowy days and really cold winters. My baby feels comfortable in it. I was skeptical about microfleece allergy flare-ups before purchasing, but luckily there were no rashes. The material (microfleece) has not torn even after many machine washes. The color is still strong. This is really a good buy! PS: I have a much larger size for my 3 month old baby (size 6-18 months) and I think it fits perfectly and will be snug in a few months.
