but the dye was perfect for my purposes

I was a little hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews but the color worked great for my purposes. I dyed two pairs of white jeans because buying them was cheaper and easier than finding the right color. I followed the instructions on the RIT website, following the method of how to do this in a sink or bucket. I boiled the water to get it hot and added salt as recommended. Good experience

I have a mustard yellow 100% cotton dress. I first used a stove top paint remover which worked fine but was very stainy. I would recommend making a washing machine for this, but that's another review. The dress has turned light yellow. I dyed it in the washing machine (mine was coral) because it's constantly moving and it's a lot harder to do on the stovetop or in the sink (I'll use the dye next time for the same reason the to remove paint). ). The packaging of all the RIT products I have purchased was great. I bought several bottles of RIT dye and fixative from Revain and my local grocery store. I've never spilled a bottle. The discontinuation of such a product would make me very angry. This camel color is actually the lighter of the dyes I ordered and used. In terms of ease of use, the directions suggest using salt with dye to hold the color better (I guess I can't remember the arguments for salt right now). Whatever the reasoning…
