Not the best for me in shoes

I bought these shoes on the recommendation of a friend who is a long distance runner like me. She loves the lightness of these shoes. I wore them for the first run today and all I can say is they are not for me and I wish I could save $90 and use them on another pair. I hate spending this money! So, to help someone else, here are my complaints: 1. There is an odd strap along the inside center edge of the shoe that holds the tongue of the shoe down, but when I put them on they bunched up. If I didn't put my toe in the boot and straightened the strap properly, my foot would hurt and become irritated. I didn't like it.2. They are clearly not broad. I wear normal shoes in size 6.5-7 (often up to 7 because I have a wide foot) and size 7.5 running shoes. I bought them in 7.5. I felt tight in the forefoot so I loosened the laces a bit. It worked for some, but by the end of my 6-mile run (and halfway through) my toes were numb. The laces seem to break easily. They don't seem to be very durable. And they don't have enough lace to tie a double knot.4. During the run, the ankle did not feel secure. Although the forefoot was tight, it felt like it was slipping off at the ankle. I felt a strong friction between my foot and the road that heated my feet. And it was a misty, cold morning. All in all, I prefer wearing my heavier Brooks Ghost shoes to these. I'm still looking for lightweight shoes that offer enough support and cushioning.
