I have a 29er mountain bike with wide 2.4 inch tires. I researched and bought it immediately after trying to inflate a tire with a street mini pump. After 100 pumps, I had barely gained 20 pounds. With this pump, I went up to 30 pounds in 50 pumps. Certainly not as good as a floor pump, but I like to carry this large volume mini pump around with me. Note that if you are using the smaller Presta valve you will need to unscrew the end cap and flip not only the rubber grommet but also the plastic valve underneath the grommet. I only gave it 4 stars because it's harder to pump than a floor pump but much easier than a mini travel pump. And 4 stars for the weight because it's heavier than the mini travel pump. Weight gain doesn't bother me.
