Review on Best of Awkward Family Photos by Dale Toth

Not that fun to play

We bought this game because it looked fun for all ages and we had a family visiting our lake house and we wanted to play fun games for kids and adults to play to play together. This game didn't get the laughs I expected after reading the reviews. Sure, awkward photos are funny, but juxtaposing movie quotes just isn't funny. Sometimes someone had a line from a movie that went well and funny with an awkward photo. Most of the rounds we've just played, from awkward to mildly funny film lines, have been played with awkward photography. Adults enjoyed the game more than 11-20 year olds. This younger age group just couldn't relate to the old Running Line quotes in their playing cards. You often didn't understand the context of the film you are quoting from. We tried this game several times. We tried it with large groups of 6-10 players. We tried it with smaller groups of 3-5 players. The large group helped choose a variety of moves for each awkward photo. It was very boring to play with a small company. So many games are better than this one. This game is not very funny. Actually, good luck getting a genuine laugh from everyone. It's just as awkward to play as the clumsy visuals you'll see.
