We ordered this service for our large family's Christmas table. The plates were very strong but not as thick as Shinet's. The plates weren't as big as I would have liked for a large meal, so I ended up ordering another set of oval plates for the main course and used them for appetizers and salad. They would still work well, only I prefer large oval cymbals. However, they worked great, have not leaked, are durable and environmentally friendly. The cutlery was also very durable and not a single piece broke, which says a lot. would reorder
