This is a high quality smart downlight. Used 4 of these in my wife's office which has no windows and only light from a ceiling fan. Installation is very easy as I had access to the attic above the office. If you can wire it in place, your installation from the ceiling should be just as easy. Cutting holes in the drywall was the most difficult and time consuming task of this build. Controllers and recessed lights are designed to make contact with the insulation. Recessed lights are thin enough to match the thickness of the plasterboard ceiling. Once installed, installing the smart lights was easy too. I used the Smart Life app as I have used this for other smart switches and lightbulbs. I added 4 lights to a group in the app so they all respond to the same command from the app. The integration into the Google Home app also went smoothly. Brightness and color changing options are easy and fast. 4 lamps light up at 100%. In this 10 x 14 office, it typically needs around 60% brightness to function. I've placed them about 3 feet from narrow walls and about 3-1/2 feet from longer walls, and that distance is good for lighting the entire area. I recommend this as the best option at the best price for 4 smart color changers. Recessed lights with >1000 lumens in the size 6 inches in diameter. I have no negative feedback.
