Inexpensive, that's the point. I bought the 3M versions at 3x the price for a project where I couldn't have a connection failure. The 3M blue version allowed me to use it on 14ga copper strands, but with difficulty. I knew it would be tight but felt the 12ga version might not connect well with the smaller 18ga cable for landscape lighting. I managed to use it with some effort but it locked. These don't have this, the lid simply cracked. stop it, no big deal. I sealed the entire joint with liquid electrical tape and silicon tape.
