Compared to other similar frames this is a great value. The center support does not connect directly to the headboard or footboard, which is desireable for better stability, but not a dealbreaker. The sides and middle support are hinged and unfold from the center legs, which is helpful in constructing. This bed should not be "scooted" without completely lifting off the floor on both sides if it is on carpet or any floor that is not truely slick in order to avoid bending the legs, which would cause the mattress to drop in the center like a bowl. (This info is based on my experience with 5 different makers of these types of platform beds.) A 10" thick mattress is recommended to show off the unique slit in the headboard (I have a 12" mattress on it). Make sure you attach the wooden parts on the side that allows it to be flush (level with) with the frame as opposed to sticking out further than the frame. The frame fits the mattress very snugly. The direction of the slit is not reversible.
