These headlights were almost exactly what I had in mind. I needed a battery because I just don't find it practical to get ones that need frequent charging. I also wanted something with a motion sensor that would mount on the wall and not be too bright. They tick all of those boxes - they're wall mounted, easy to hold, bright enough to be seen without being really bright. The motion sensors have a wide field of effect and are activated whenever I expect them to (e.g. when I enter a room). There are a few things to consider. First, note that the light is only on for 20 seconds. That makes them perfect for something like a hallway you just walk past, but not quite for a room like a bathroom or kitchen (which is where I put mine) where 20 seconds is basically no time at all. Adding to this problem, the motion sensor doesn't pick up subtle movements well. For example, if you stand and brush your teeth, the sensor most likely won't detect it and you'll have to reactivate it every 20 seconds. It will accommodate larger and larger movements, for example if you actually move a part of your body in space. Also keep in mind that they don't include batteries and require 3 AAA each. So be sure to factor this into your lighting costs. . Another feature I noticed is that if you start out in a dark room, the light activates, and then you turn the light on, you might think it knows it can turn itself off, but it does not - it stays on as long as it detects motion, as if the room were dark. All in all, they are very useful and easy to use. Perfect for a hallway or somewhere you just walk by, but I would really prefer something with a 2 minute on time instead of 20 seconds as I use them more to turn off the main light late at night and when they do would offer an option.
