The burden fell mostly on my mother, mostly (but far from entirely) at her insistence; at age 92, she insisted on caring for my father, 94 years old, her husband of 68 years. My wife and I were living in their basement. I was able to help a little, getting them a bed/sitting lift and helping some when he got obstreperous. We got them moved to an assistive living center where help was a little easier to arrange. He died last year. RIP, Dad. He was not a PERFECT father, but still was a great man (And my mother was and is a great mother and wife.)With love,Sam
