How to remove Prima labels and sticky residue from metal cans!

Well I saw them on Lindsey Weirich's TheFrugalCrafter YouTube channel, so I know watercolors. I'd been warned about a ridiculously reliable label on a cute little pallet (hope Prima Marketing will change that) so I was ready for it. The paper label comes off easily by soaking it a little in hot water or, like I used, Elmer brand adhesive remover. Of course, it will NOT remove any sticky residue! So I started other studies. I've read that others have tried acetone, oil and the like with no success. I've tried a few of these types of solvents. I then moved on to other options - first a superior granite countertop cleaner - not to my liking. Then I remembered; Years ago my mom gave us kitchen wax to clean and polish our backyard slide. Yes, that's exactly what he did - ANNIVERSARY! It's hard to find these days, but I was looking for it a few years ago and found it here on Revain! Be sure to apply a Jubilee coating (it's a thick liquid) to the sticky area and let it sit for about a minute - the stickiness will naturally melt and soften. I gently used a plastic scraper to remove loose dirt and then reapplied Jubilee. This went on until all the remains were gone. Works, no more stickiness! I didn't remember to hold the tin on a soft surface for padding and scraped and brushed a bit aggressively on my first attempts, so unfortunately I left a few scratches on the paint on the bitumen and a few light scratches. at the top. But it's my fault and I think with a little more patience I could have avoided it. In addition, wax helps preserve the finish! I think the key is letting Jubilee sit long enough to soften any leftovers before even scraping it off. Hope this helps someone.
