UPDATE (6/9/2020): I've updated my star rating from 1 to 4. It would have been 5 stars if it were. I don't have to run into a problem when the seller sent me a replacement clear plastic gasket/ring (THREE thin layers instead of TWO). However, the seller did a good job of responding to my issue and fixing it accordingly, which I really appreciate. I've attached an updated video of me replacing the plastic gasket and showing the lid closing snugly now. **************************************** I love the style and size of the biscuit jar , only that the lid does not stay closed when pressed. Therefore, the bench is useless to me. I mean, who wants stale cookies! I contacted the seller and they told me they would send a redesigned seal that has THREE layers in a plastic ring instead of TWO. In testing, they found that THREE layers worked better. I'll leave this rating at 1 star for now. I will update this review once I receive a new replacement pad.
