I am changing my rating to 3 stars. The seller is very responsible and obviously cares about both customer satisfaction and the quality of his products. He contacted me after the initial check and explained that the problem I described could be due to damage during shipping. Given that other reviews are consistently positive, I think it's entirely possible that I received a damaged item. 3 stars is a "cautious" rating. If the particular unit I received didn't skip CD playback I would rate it 4 stars. I wouldn't give 5 stars as the sound isn't strong enough for a player at this price. However, it deserves 4 stars because it has an impressive array of features. Because of these features, I would recommend trying it out and contacting the seller if the device you received has any issues. You may need to add an amplifier to improve the sound unless you plan on using it in a small room. Terrible player! The CD player keeps skipping, although the CDs I've tried play fine in my car, on my computer, and in the small cheap ($30) player I have. The sound is not strong enough. If I turn the volume all the way up, the sound quality degrades. When I keep it at a level where it sounds okay, it's not as powerful as my $40 Logitech computer speakers and only marginally more powerful than my phone. It has very good features which is why I bought it, but problems with the CD player and poor sound forced me to return it. I haven't tried the rest of the functions yet.
