After almost two weeks I can say that this is a reliable camera. It's worth it if you're looking for a cheaper 4k camera to play with before buying something much more expensive. So far it has all the bells and whistles I was looking for. 1) I can use it as an alternative webcam. when I want to make a more professional Zoom call. That way I can either connect it remotely to my computer/Android phone or use the HDMI output to send the raw signal to my computer via a capture card. 2) It is interesting to play with night vision at dusk. . Filming wildlife here in the middle of nowhere, coming out to graze and doing their nocturnal stuff. I just couldn't use it on a completely dark night. A little moonlight helps 3) The sound quality is good. About what I expected from a decent microphone bundled with the camera. It's good, it doesn't have too much background noise and it doesn't require extra batteries (god I hate buying a mic that isn't a crazy price only to find out it uses a weird type of battery which I still have never heard. never heard). 4) The build quality is strong. It's lightweight because it's a hard plastic that's scratch-resistant. So be careful you don't expect something heavy and accidentally throw it across the room. 5) Video/Image Quality. It offers 4k and 1080p quality images and videos. It's about as prescribed. Just note that this camera uses a digital zoom. So if you don't place it CORRECTLY when using it as a webcam you may get a slightly blurry image. Therefore, before actively using it, make a small test recording or preview in order not to suffer any loss of quality. Interval shooting is a useful feature of the camera. I've never used a video camera for this. So I guess I'll have to keep trying. Quality tests I've done so far show it looks good. Now all I have to do is decide what to record. May be. Sunset? Sunrise? Stars? Oh I know! I'll try to see the storm roll across the plain!
