I used cheaper ink before and everything was fine. Those cartridges were a little weird. It prompts you to bend the lever on the cartridge when you get an error on your printer. Well I have a printhead error and my almost new printer is dead. I've tried everything. As soon as I put these cartridges in, the printer stopped printing. I don't think you should try to save money on ink.
