So I literally had one of the best Really Right Stuff tripods in the world. Had to be replaced due to loss. I didn't have $1500 on another RRS so I needed something that worked well but wasn't $1500. I am delighted with the quality of this tripod for the price. It is very robust, well made and light. When you buy a cheap tripod, you usually feel like you have one. Not this brand. I have seen tripods from Manfrotto, Gitzo, RRS etc. This one stays with the best. It's lightweight and won't break the bank! It is very durable and well designed. It doesn't use a center column, making it the preferred choice for its stability. It costs a lot so you have a lot of work space. I paired it with an ARTCISE LB44 ball head and it's a great combo for about 1/5 of what you would pay for an RRS. Note: This is not what I would call the perfect traveling tripod. It's a bit big for that, but that makes it the preferred choice whenever possible. I love the design of this tripod so much that I bought a second spare tripod which is smaller and can be used when I want to hike or travel long distances with a tripod.
