Review on Mud Pie Canvas Bridal Party by Jamie Northcutt

Ordered these for my bridesmaids/maid of honor/mother of the groom and myself and I won't lie I'm actually a little embarrassed and disappointed to give them. Yes they are beautiful and very cute, I was particularly drawn to the gold writing as my wedding colors are burgundy and gold, but I can't get over the horrible musty smell these bags give off. I'm so glad I ordered them ahead of time to try and find a solution to get rid of the stench. They smell very strongly of a moldy wet towel and I'm too scared to put it in the washing machine as I don't know how the materials will hold up. I let them dry in the sun for a few hours and now the smell is faint but still noticeable. I'll try spraying on some fever and letting it dry in the sun for a few hours but I'm afraid of the fading it may cause on the gold letters. I've read reviews complaining about moldy smell but ordered it anyway thinking maybe they were just unlucky, apparently it isn't as it seems to be a common complaint and it still hasn't solution exists to fix the problem. If anyone knows any solutions to get rid of the smell or if you have successfully washed it without ruining it please let me know!
