Mud Pie Canvas Bridal Party Review

First of all, this is a very cute bag and the perfect gift for the bride (the reason I bought it). It was packaged with a pretty tag and in a small plastic bag. When opening the plastic bag there was a horrible smell of mold/musty hay. To gift it, I had to remove the label from the packaging and dip it in Febreeze. I hope I can get rid of the smell before her bachelorette party.

I bought this bag for my son's wedding after receiving a similar bag when my daughter got married. Luckily it wasn't a gift for someone else as upon opening the packaging it smelled horribly, a rancid mildew smell. Not having enough time before the wedding to go back and get replacements, I sprayed Febreeze inside, outside and on both sides of the handles, left in the sun for a few hours and then tumble dried with 4 scents. The bags were exactly as they were posted. Minor downside, they're not too big inside, but that still serves the purpose for me. Also, they had a slight odor when they arrived. Ordered these for my bridesmaids/maid of honor/mother of the groom and myself and I won't lie I'm actually a little embarrassed and disappointed to give them. Yes they are beautiful and very cute, I was particularly drawn to the gold writing as my wedding colors are burgundy and gold, but I can't get over the horrible musty smell these bags give off.
