Review on Cable Matters 2-Outlet Surge Protector with 4.8A 4-Port USB Charger, Tablet Holder Included by Brian Thao

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Could be better, but best of all

Pros: - Output surge protection. Plug straight into the wall, no surge protection - 2 wall outlets - 4 USB jacks with higher voltage than most 4.5V - Keep the stand wide enough to accommodate a cell phone or tablet. There are no front panel ports when your device is on the stand. CONS: (rather a design flaw) - a little big, could take up less space - no on/off switch. I plugged it into a smart socket and set it to turn off during the day and turn on at night - the cradle could have been a bit lower. The high lip covers part of the screen. I added a small black pad so I can see my phone's clock. Due to the size I would place 2 outlets on the side and one on top so at least some of the cords can be out of place. - since 4 devices can be connected. it must have at least 2 cradle slots - 2 micro USB ports 3 and 6 feet are included. Instead they have 2 different 1 foot connectors. You don't need long cables, so we initially placed it over a desktop device. There is no place to hide the extra leftover cable. All in all I would recommend as there are workarounds for some of the downsides. A very good product so far.
