For many years I have preferred Xiaomi headphones for their inexpensive yet great sounding sound - a near perfect combination of clarity, performance and balance. That's why I was so interested in hearing the "budget" version of these headphones. They come in a plain cardboard box with an extra set of rubber ear tips - a big difference from Xiaomi's more expensive headphones, which come in an elegantly designed box. At first glance, the earbuds have the same shape and design as Xiaomi's excellent QTEJ02JY earbuds, but there's a lot more plastic in the cheaper earbuds. The sound is also a little disappointing; Instead of the expected rich sound of previous generations of these phones, Xiaomi's $9.99 Pistons have a lower resolution with uninteresting highs and normal lows - best for audiobooks or podcasts. Definitely not my choice for listening to music. These headphones are Xiaomi/1More branded and I was able to use Siri and Apple mics in simple operations.
