Review on πŸ•ΆοΈ Glare Guard Polarized Car Visor Extender: Ultimate Protection from Glare & UV Rays by John Hall

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Almost finished but there is a big design issue

This is a high quality product but it probably needs another generation of development to get 5 stars. It looks and feels like something you don't have to be ashamed of using (the price matches). If you adjust the angle of the visor during use, you'll be rewarded with a nice clicking hinge as you rotate it. Part of the lens is dark enough to comfortably soften the setting sun, which you'll have to face west on the drive home. But not so dark that you have to fold them back every time the sun isn't in your field of vision. There are three stars deducted for that: The fastening screws that hold the whole unit together came loose when the car was parked for the first time in the summer sun. I mean very easy. The hinges pivoted freely from the visor clamps, allowing the lens to dangle back and forth. And the screws holding the lens to the hinges were so loose they both dangled. It took me both hands to hold it together after removing it from my visor. My attempts to fix it with a screwdriver and an eyeglass repair kit were unsuccessful. It looks like the plastic pieces holding all the screws and securing the lens have lost their integrity due to the heat. Although it was hot in the car, the product was not exposed to direct sunlight. Either my block was made from faulty material or the plastic needs to be modified to withstand the 120+ degree temperatures that our cars typically struggle with during the summer months. Fix this error and get a 5-star product.
