Just assembled and sat down. I bought mine to lie down and watch movies. It should be good for that. I'm satisfied, but I have to improve a few things and make a few criticisms. Pros: - Very convenient - Assembly was easy - There is a lever for the footrest. Many chairs require you to press your calves down, making it difficult to stand up. - The backrest can be adjusted to many comfortable positions, not just "recline or not recline". - That looks great. If you choose black, it will look appropriate in your living room as a theater chair. In fact, this is a whole new style of chair. As far as I know, no one else has anything like this. and it will be copied. Cons: - Big for me: For my height, the headrest pillow seems to be designed more as a "neck support". The back of your head is on top of the chair, which is fine, but the pillow can't be higher than the back of your neck. Maybe that's the intended purpose, but it's no good when you're trying to sit back and stare at a screen and that's the only reason you'd buy this chair. Going without a pillow isn't an option, but when it's in its natural position I have to look down to watch movies, which causes eye strain. If the headrest goes behind the head, it's much better, but there's no way to keep it in place. The problem is that it is attached to the chair with straps through two holes and those holes are not high enough. (And let's be honest the reason these holes are there is because it looks like a racing seat where these holes would be the straps for a 4 point harness.) SO HERE'S MY DECISION: I select fabric stock and fetch Get a little "extension" for an elastic band. Hope to get it in black. The strap is then routed around the top of the chair instead of through the holes. I'm 6ft 1" but even if I was 5ft 11" or maybe 5ft 10" I would still have this problem. (Fun fact, 14% of men in the US are taller than 6'.) I would find it more appropriate if the pillow could alternatively be supported by two straps running down the back and adjustable Velcro or buttons. I was surprised that the grip on the footrest lever was black painted wood rather than plastic. a problem, but it fell off immediately. I will use epoxy to hold it in place. It would probably stick if I just tapped it with a hammer, but I'll do it anyway. - The quality is decent but doesn't last more than 15 years like the La-Z-Boy chair. 2 years? Maybe. 4 years? I think so. 6 years? Probably not. Frame is tubular steel, not heavy gauge steel - leg rest mechanism gets a little "crisp" when it moves all the way out. On inspection I can see some imperfections in the metal which will smooth out over time so that's not a problem. - As others have pointed out the vinyl (decent quality) on this one will make you sweat. I wish they were cloth, at least on the seats. On the other hand, it will be easy to clean.
