This is exactly what we were hoping for. I've read other reviews concerned about the sturdiness, it's a solid piece of furniture while it's probably best to make sure it is up against accounter for safety reasons we haven't had any issues or concerns with it being in the middle of the floor while our sons on it. My only complaint is, now that we have it and see how much our toddler loves helping in the kitchen, I wish we got one that was adjustable so that he could use it as he grows. He's average size for 20 months and its a good height for him right now. He could probably gain a couple inches and still be very comfortable on it. I guess we'll see how long it takes him to outgrow it.
