I was struggling to get this thing to work. I have 2 rooms that need to share this tv box. Both rooms have 1 ethernet cable. The set-top box receives a signal to its room on line 1. I was hoping that this gadget would work with a switch. It's not like this. It also doesn't work with an Ethernet splitter. My final attempt was to run a new ethernet cable from the set top box room straight into the second TV room. It worked. But you must keep the run as short as possible. Also, this gadget is very picky about the signal. I had some old Cat 5e cables that didn't work. Make sure you're using a good quality one, maybe a new category 6 or 7. Try swapping out the cables before throwing in the towel. 5 stars because it worked in the end. Saved us from renting a new box.
