Large diameter. I used to use 3" casters and they make a big difference, but the ones I bought are no longer available from Revain. All that seems to be available are these rollerblade style wheels which is why I got a set. You installed as expected. Inserted immediately. Rolls great once you start rolling the chair and therein lies the problem. Narrow wheels don't change direction well. Regular wide wheels roll over quickly, but these sticky rollerblade wheels don't like to flop so fast that you have to fight your chair to roll it sideways a bit. Once you start it rolls great, but the next sharp change of direction and you're struggling with the chair again. I don't think it's the manufacturer, I think it's generally a mistake to use this type of wheel for this purpose. If you ever just drive back and forth that might be fine, but I drive between two tables and sometimes I want to smack the chair under the table. Away and crank the bar table and the chair fights with me tly constantly. My home chairs with big but wide "regular" wheels don't have this problem at all.
