I bought the X-H1 and grip like new for about $940 well before it was available with the new $1000 grip. I'm sorry but I accept it. is a downsized GFX 50S with X-T2 + IBIS internals. The IQ that comes out of this cell is fantastic. It was fantastic on the X-T2 too - same matrix. I photograph hybrids (portraits as well as cinematic and documentary videos). However, I only use excellent glass with this camera: Fujinon 16mm F1.4, Fujinon 23mm F1.4, Fujinon 35mm F2, Fujinon 56mm F1.2 and 90mm F2. The ergonomics are perfect for me as I have relatively large hands. I've bought smaller cameras just to buy a grip to make them bigger. I would only buy the X-H1 because of the ergonomics. The stabilization is definitely not perfect. This was greatly improved with a firmware update, but I crave the quality of the GH5. We all know that battery life wasn't absolutely fantastic on the XT range, and it could be argued that it's worse on the X-H1 due to the extra power needed for IBIS. Just take extra batteries with you. It is so easy. It would be nice if it wasn't required, but it's no big deal. Pros: IQ, ergonomics, weatherproofing and solid chassis/mount, IBIS, sub-display, electronic viewfinder, analogue dials, film simulation, silent shutter, crisp 4K. Recording, two UHS-II memory card slots, simple menu navigation and good internal sound. Cons: port selection, battery life, X-T3 release shortly after X-H1. The X-H2 will include: USB-C headphone jack Enhanced IBISAT MINIMUM Internal 4K60, 10-bit 4:2:2 400Mbps (must pass to justify the price) 4K slow motion recording Fully articulated rear LCD display with improved touch sensitivity (for vlogging, interviews, etc.) Larger batteries/improved battery life (this should also justify the price) New film simulation In short, the X-H1 is a great Gen 1 camera for the lineup; Although I am very happy for the X-H2.
