Review on Body Solid ACH18 Ab Crunch Harness by Vinay Mickel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

a worthy replacement for the original that I broke.

I was a little apprehensive about this snippet when I first saw it. I had to replace that same creaking strap when I broke the grip on my Impex 2105 power machine and after dealing with Impex customer service and their terrible parts and blatant delivery times I gave up on that part. My part was noticeably shorter when around my neck doing crunches, which made me concerned as it looked much longer in the photos. My anxiety was compounded by reviews suggesting it was putting a lot of pressure on the neck. I am pleased to report that these fears have been allayed. I received this piece today and tried it out for the first time a few hours ago and yes it was about 6 inches longer than the original Impex I was using but it turned out to be pretty good. The original I had was so short that the handles were almost on my shoulders for crunches, this one from Body Solid allowed me to get a more comfortable grip under my pecs. When I first opened the box and put it around my neck I really had a feeling it was going to be uncomfortable as it felt like the U store was really putting a lot of pressure on my neck but that was, without a weight pulling him in the opposite direction. When using this item, the longer handle not only made the grip more comfortable, but also reduced stress on the extensor muscle groups (I think that could be a good thing, a bad thing, or both, it seems). this has been the biggest influence on the increase in size of these muscles over the last 9 months), but even so, I would prefer to reduce the pressure on the elbow associated with increasing length. As for the pressure on the neck; He wasn't at work. Increasing the length behind the bar to the first roll actually helped take the pressure off beforehand and made the rotation more efficient. I used to use too many back muscles with a short suspension to start the crunch from a fully upright position, and with a longer back it starts in the perfect spot to crunch. Well if you're a tall person (mine is 6ft) you might want to move the chair down a notch, I see one reviewer saying it started with almost a full crunch from the start. If this happens and your bench can do that, you'll need to move the seat forward a little, or as I said, lower the seat to get into a comfortable starting position. When I came back, I continued to sink to the bottom of the weight stack, but that was because I wasn't used to stopping before he started pulling on my lower back. Despite pulling the same weight, I felt more productive than before since it was actually the abs that were being used to start the rep. The right end of the D attachment is stitched well and has much better alignment than my original. The Impex had a D-ring sewn onto the side, which always put uneven pressure on the straps, confusing me on crunches. With Body Solid it is well centered and properly aligned, flat side to person, allowing the connector to slide around and more and it stays centered and balanced. If there is any criticism I could make is that the grip opening can be a bit small for someone with large hands or wearing well padded gloves (not that gloves are needed for this as the foam is quite firm and firm and the ends of the plastic Handles expand to hold the foam roller in place.
