Updated after 1.5 years. I have them on the side of my refrigerator with a 3ft countertop and then on the stovetop. I just opened one that probably hadn't been opened in a year and it was rock hard and completely drained. I checked a few others that aren't used very often and were difficult as well. The lids don't close, neither do the small flaps. Not quite. I had already established that the windows were too large and the light was causing the visible spice to discolor and lose its potency, so I went through and stuck entire foil labels over them. That wasn't the case a year ago. Nice try, but the spice jar needs a much better seal when it's next to moist heat, like in an oven.
