Review on Efficient Hitch Mount Platform 2-Bike Rack: MAXXHAUL 50027 for Easy Bike Transport by Ryan Schweigert

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Sturdy - great value for money

You can tell by the weight of the box that this stretcher is a large piece of metal. Assembling this carrier is easy. Don't be fooled by messages that say "too many pieces" or too confusing. Without pictures or instructions, the average person could figure this out in 20 minutes, and it comes with pictures and instructions. You will definitely want to use a tow hitch (see pictures). Holds the holder firmly in the receiver and as an added plus it is an anti-theft device as someone will need a 3/4" wrench or deep socket before they can remove the holder. It will take a little more work to adjust all the parts to fit your bikes without touching. In the photos attached to the trunk, each bike is upside down relative to the other. I couldn't get this to work. The handlebars of one bicycle touched the saddle of another. But as you can see I have two bikes facing the same direction and the trunk works great. Hitting the freeway at high speeds and cruising the really crappy streets of Houston was all safe and sound. However, watch out for the red arrow. As with all bike racks, some material needs to be placed between the bike and the rack as movement and vibration can wear away the paint.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some imperfections
