First of all, this is a personal air cooler, not an air conditioner. It'll keep you cold as long as you're within walking distance of it, but it won't blow icy winds at you for hours while you sleep, and it won't heat your entire room to 60 degrees on a hot day. I've looked at the bad reviews and I think a lot of people just need something stronger depending on the climate or are complaining because their expectations were too high. I got this because we are having a heat wave and there is no air conditioning in our house. I wasn't expecting anything, but I was amazed (laughs) at how well it works. Even when using water, the exhaust air is really very cold. To be honest sometimes with ice it's too much and I just had to use the low fan setting. The battery charge lasts for almost 4 hours and the design is anything but cheap. Of course there is noise, but you forget about it. I rarely write reviews, but something like this could help a lot of people. Just get it.
