I put 1/4 cup of this in a plastic shoe box and poured 2 inches of lukewarm water over it. They stretched so much in 2 hours which is what I wanted. The occupational therapist wanted to work on fine motor skills with my child at my home today. I poured out the water and placed the beads in a cake stand along with another empty cake plate for the beads to pick up and carry. Both the therapist and the child liked these beads very much. After they were done, I poured the pearls onto cheesecloth to dry them, then placed them in a plastic bag in the fridge. I'm hoping to get at least three to four more sessions with these beads before having to toss them in the trash and choose another 1/4 cup from the 20,000 beads included in the packet. The texture of the pearls resembles tapioca pearls. Not all, when expanded, turn into symmetrical spheres. Some of them turn into connected drops of three or more spheres.
