Died just a few hours after turning it on

At first this lamp seemed pretty good, especially the design and the articulations that allow it to be positioned in an elongated, cantilevered shape (which is quite a large requires base but worth the compromise) . However, the light output was slightly lower than expected. This impression was probably influenced by the fact that I have replaced a bright halogen table lamp and have been using LED grow/aquarium lights since they became widespread (with very bright LEDs). However, I would have expected brighter for 14W. I used the light maybe 3 times a week for a total of no more than 3 hours and the next day it wouldn't come on. No sign of damage to the Prior, she just died. I checked the plugs, tried all the touch buttons and measured the adapter's output voltage - normal, 12.2 volts. So it looks like I received a broken device and unfortunately it was in its box for a while after I received it (ironic that thanks to Prime it arrives the next day after ordering) so it's not due to Revain can be returned, and Ambertronix does not appear to have a customer. Support or even a website after a cursory web search. I should have kept the instructions. And it doesn't even make a good paperweight. In the meantime, I can use the glossy black finish to keep an eye on the dust that gathers as a reminder of my laziness.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
