After using only Joy Mangano "huggable" velvet hangers for the last 10 years, I decided to try Cresnel brand hangers and I'm so glad I did . This cresnel velvet hanger with space to hang accessories has the same quality as the JM brand. They're well made, the velvet won't fade or stain and the price is 53% lower than JM, it's an obvious choice. They measure 16.25 inches in diameter and 8.5 inches high, so they're slightly smaller than Huggable hangers. The attached image shows the size difference between the CRESNEL hanger and the JM Huggable hanger. Of course, the cost is a big plus for me, but what I love most about these shelves is that my scoop neck blouses no longer end up on the bottom of my closet. I also use these hangers for sweaters; Aside from not having room in my closet to fold my sweaters, the real reason I hang them on these hangers is so they don't leave "sweater nipples," i.e. (sigh!) hangers. There's nothing I hate more than trying to put on my favorite comfy sweater after it's been hanging on a plastic hanger all summer, only to find that I can't actually wear it until it's washed due to horrible nipples. amirite? I also hang dry many of my tops and blouses and have had no problems with color transfer or velvet pile on tops when hanging damp straight after washing. I use these hangers for everything, even t-shirts. While care should be taken when removing a t-shirt from these hangers and not tugging hard, that doesn't justify NOT using them for everything. As mentioned, my bedroom closet is prime real estate, so it made sense to ditch the traditional plastic hangers and replace them with slim velvet hangers. Having more storage space makes me *almost* as happy as it was when my husband and I found out we were going to be first-time parents. Seriously, that's second place. Verdict: Cresnel velvet hangers are well made, as good as JM's "huggable" hangers, and cost 53% less than Joy's, a big win for me. Highly recommended.
