Review on 🥤 FERRODAY Carbonation Keg Lid with Stainless Steel Diffusion Stone and Tube - For Efficient Soda and Beer Carbonation at Home by David Amarelo

Ideal for quick filling

I typically run a 'plug and forget' carburetor within 2-3 weeks. I've never had much luck with over carb methods where you crank it up to 30psi and shake it etc. You always end up with either over or under carb. Anyway, I wanted to get my hands on a competition beer fast, so I decided to spend $25 to get it. With Prime shipping, I received it the next day. The best part is that carbs are digested quickly and there is no way to overdo it on carbs as you never set your PSI higher than usual. You just plug it in and set the pressure to around 4psi and then increase it by 2psi every 2 hours. I got really lucky with my first beer of the night so I moved the lid to 2 other kegs I had in my kizer, slow carbs. I simply increased the pressure by 2psi over my normal supply pressure, by 1psi for the "wetting pressure" and by 1psi to account for a small loss when changing the cap. If you don't want to change the lid they are cheap enough you can just buy one for each keg. They come with a cap, hose, stone and a snail clamp to connect the hose to the cap. I didn't find a snail clamp necessary since the cap post is about an inch long. The cover itself looks quite high quality, I don't see any particular problems with it. Liked the silicone hose. It wasn't super sticky like most silicone tubing. Between cask to cask transfers, I simply dumped the entire kit and mash into my 1 gallon pot and cooked. Fits great in a 1 gallon storage bag (you don't want to touch the stone or anything on it or you could clog tiny pores). If you look closely at my photos you will see that I use pin lock kegs. It's a bit of a shame that they only come with ball locks, but that seems to be support from all the different brands. I've tried converting the ball lock to a pin lock but it doesn't look like I can get it loose. There is nothing below to hold on to except a pillar. However, every pin lock user should have at least one toggle toggle to be able to replace it with a ball lock, as newer gadgets seem to support it. I want to take it a step further and install a luer lock disconnect on a gas line so I can connect whatever I want to it. It is very convenient for fixing things easily. You can see it in action in one of the pictures. Search Google for (beer keg luer lock) for more information on how to set it up. I also recommend them to ball lock users!
