Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ YONGNUO YN-568EX II High-Performance TTL Flash Speedlite Compatible with Canon E-TTL/E-TTL II Cameras by Richard Edwar

Has stopped working properly after a few light uses, so it has to be returned.

I have a YN560 III that I love. I had it for about a year and it worked very well. I decided to try YN568 EX II to use high speed sync. I received this flash last week and it worked great initially. I put it on my camera and tested the high-speed sync feature, which worked well. I then had fun using ETTL around the house (I used to only use manual flash), took lots of shots and tried to get it off camera with the YN622c remotes. That worked great and I was very happy with it. Then I set up an actual shot and used it to light up a couple of wine bottles, which I kept rearranging between shots, which made this shot very slow so I didn't really have the chance to overwork the flash or overheat it. Then it suddenly stopped working properly. The flash fired but didn't sync with the shutter so no flash was visible in the photo. It fires only at the time of the shot in manual mode, but then it fires only at full power, regardless of the settings. I tried it in front of the camera to see if it was triggers and got the same results. The lightning did not fall or strike. At first it worked fine for one shot, but for the next it just stopped working after a few minutes. I also noticed that the battery compartment is pretty hot, so I stopped messing with the settings, turned it off, and started researching the issue (I've found several people having the same thing). After the flash sat off on my desk for almost an hour, I packed it up for return and the battery compartment was still hot, so I removed the batteries. I'm very disappointed as I really enjoyed this flash until it went wrong for me. I'm just glad it happened within the return period.
