Review on πŸͺš Dremel 231 Shaper Router Table: Optimize Your Woodworking with Precision and Ease by Jeremy Sabey

Good router table for small spaces

I needed a router table, but I don't have much room in my garage to put a separate table. Many years ago my father gave me a Dremel and said it was one of the most versatile tools I own. Stumbled across this device and remembered his sage advice. The table easily attaches to the corner of my workbench and can be easily removed when I need a little more workbench space. The build quality of the table is good, but feels a bit like plastic. I think it will hold up given the small projects it was designed for. The Dremel wobbles a little if you don't tighten the height adjustment screw firmly, and I wish the grid marks would mark better. This is where I think the Dremel could save some plastic and use aluminum or metal for the mount/height adjustment. The clasp/rail works but I would like it to be adjustable fore/aft as well as angled. You can move the pivot closer or further away from the Dremel, but to adjust the position of your cut you will need to tilt the bolt and then use the notch in the bolt to align the cut. I'm still learning this tool and there might be a better way to adjust the gate but I haven't found it yet. All in all, this is a very nice accessory for your Dremel and an easy way to add a router bit. into your tool box without sacrificing much space.

Pros
  • Easily mounts to any work surface on the table. Compact and easy to store away when not in use
Cons
  • boring packaging
