I see a lot of people complaining that this is not suitable for USB and that you should read the description carefully etc. but they don't seem to know what DisplayPort is. You don't even need to read the description as the product name clearly says it's a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter :) I always take my laptop with me when I go on vacation with my family, two of them Found. The first reason is so my kids can watch Netflix or a DVD movie from their laptop at night at the hotel and the second reason is so I can work on it if I ever have to. I have several laptops at home including Lenovo ThinkPads, HP ProBook, Gateway and Asus models. All my laptops EXCEPT Lenovo ThinkPads have an HDMI port which allows me to easily connect to the hotel TV to redirect video and audio from my laptop to the TV. Lenovo ThinkPads, on the other hand, have what's called a "DisplayPort," which is similar to an HDMI connector but doesn't fit into an HDMI cable port. I always carry a spare HDMI cable with me, so I remember to pack it when I go on vacation, but it was useless when I took a Lenovo ThinkPad with me. So I bought this DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to keep in my luggage along with my HDMI cable and it works great with DisplayPort on my Lenovo ThinkPad T420s. Now I don't have to worry about which laptop I took on vacation because I can always connect to my TV as long as it has an HDMI input. Please note that some Lenovo laptops like the W530 have a DisplayPort Mini which is much smaller than the DisplayPort connector. Therefore, before ordering, check which DisplayPort you have.
