I had a very similar bag that I really liked but it started tearing. I couldn't find the same one but this one was very close. I'm glad I tried it because overall I really like it! I like that the large compartment is on the back so it feels safer in public areas and easy to access when shopping. I feel good on my shoulders and back, which is important to me. Although I didn't overload it with heavy stuff. The inner compartment is very spacious and can hold a lot. I am a mother of 3 children, so I always have something in my purse. I wouldn't recommend it as a proper school backpack as it's not big enough for large textbooks and the shoulder straps aren't padded. But the other day I managed to fit into a legal pad I needed for a meeting. I was hoping for a slightly darker gray bag but I would say it is pretty close to the color in the picture. The zippers work well and I like that the outer material can be easily wiped clean if needed. I only used the backpack straps on my old bag so I didn't attach the extra strap that came with this bag so can't speak to that. The reason I only gave 4 stars was because I would like to have more organizational positions in a larger department. I was also hoping there would be some organization pockets in the front pocket. It's just an open zip pocket. Storage for things like pens, hand sanitizer, chewing gum etc would be helpful. Overall I would recommend this bag!
