My aunt and mother have a similar top-notch tilting blender. (In my view, it's more of a status symbol than a useful device.) It's used once or twice a year, mostly during the holidays. At the same time, it takes up a lot of space on their shelves. They won't keep it because it's too big. It really is that everyone goes "ooh" and "ahh" when we eat pastries made from baked goods. What a clever sentence! You won't be able to put a pasta maker or grinder in your kitchen, but will you miss them? Don't buy a blender that costs twice as much. In any case, this blender is the perfect partner for me and quite powerful. This lightweight wonder can work with dough like bread dough (unlike a hand mixer). Splash guard, various attachments and a large mixing bowl are just a few of the great features. It's a sturdy unit, yet light enough that I can keep it in my pantry the other 95% of the time I'm in the kitchen without having to use a blender. Easy to clean. Dishwasher attachments can be placed directly in the dishwasher. This guy is a good alternative when you want a good blender but can't justify paying almost as much as a giant machine.
